Malpaz Unionist CLub Raises Funds For The Alzheimer's Society

The Malpas Unionist Club, Newport South Wales, has raised a total of £2,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Club had a bank holiday fun day which included a BBQ,
karaoke completion, face painting, man verses food challenge, sponsored bike ride to the Brecon Beacon’s and back, race night and an evening of clairvoyance.

All members and visitors gave generously and everyone who attended commented on what a special event it was. The Mayor and Mayoress of Newport attended a presentation evening at the Club along with Carolyn Holt (Community Fundraiser) of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Alzheimer’s Society has almost 3,000 community-based services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, providing practical and emotional support for people with dementia and their carers. By 2017, the Society aims to spend at least £10 million a year on new research projects that will make a real difference in the fight against this illness.
