Pages from the past

In this month’s Pages From the Past we have taken an article from February 1933 in which the ACC is promoting a special cruise for ‘Clubmen’.

Readers will, of course, be aware that in 1933 social attitudes were very different and it is difficult to imagine any organisation promoting such an activity today. However, it would seem that organised trips and holidays were very much in vogue at the time and foreign travel was something that was beginning to become an activity which could be obtained by people who were not at the very top of high society as it would have been ten years previously.

Further holidays and deals of a similar nature continued to be offered by the ACC right up to the start of the Second World War but were not ever reinstated after the war. There are no immediate plans to organise a new Mediterranean cruise for ACC Club Members!
